Went back to Austin today to run errands with Jacob, who always seems pretty busy.  I think he's living the life.  We went out to San Marcos to trade in a car at the Toyota dealership.  While driving there I decided that I liked the car, so I bought it.  I paid a bit too much for it probably, considering it didn't have air conditioning, but it runs pretty well.  And the radio works... also it has automatic seatbelts and tinted windows.  Now it's mine.  I think I'll be OK without AC for a couple of months (unless it gets up to 120F like it did last summer).  Soon I'll fit it with my fuzzy dice, and my "i didn't vote for his daddy either" bumper sticker.

After we got the car we went to Magnolia Cafe and I had quesadillas.  Everything on the menu was tempting to me, and I can afford a little bit more than "The Economical", which is what I could afford as a student, so I'll have to go back again and try more things.  Luckily it's open 24 hours, so if I get a midnight craving for portabello mushroom pizzas, potato landscapes, or peanut butter pie, I know where to go.  If only I could get my brain to think in dollars again.  Everythings's pretty cheap there even if I'm thinking in pounds anyway.

The last stop of the day was Robert's house for his housewarming party.  It was a very laid back affair, and I knew almost everyone there.  Robert never fails to impress me with his electronics.  He has the Sega equivalent of the color gameboy.  I need this.  In fact, I think I need a PS2 and a Dreamcast as well.  He's got all the toys.  How can I live without Chu Chu Rocket?

Robert's girlfriend, Beth, was very interesting too.  She's lived in Britain for a lot of her childhood and teens.  She had the same things to say about it as I do.  She made me feel a lot less weird than I do most of the time in Britain.  I knew I wasn't mispronouncing "Dynasty" for example.  It's fun being foreign for about a week, but after that I feel out of place in a bad way.  It's good to be home.  Although I've already been introduced as "stacey from britain" a few times, and asked a some weird questions about england.
