Everything today is mixed together in my memory. It was a busy day of being a tourist. At some point during the day we went to our favorite sushi joint Hi Sushi, then to Patisserie Valerie. I think that's when I saw the camera-shy gay roller skaters. This is the life.

Then we went back to more trendy bookstores and to a place called Kitschen Sync where I spent way too much money. You need everything there. Nigel got a few things for himself as well, so I didn't feel that bad.
In the evening we met up with Heyoka and Nessi Gun and Petra Parsnip. I don't remember all the details of what we talked about, but it was fun for me to be with friends in Britain where I was not the token anything. I wasn't the token married person, nor was I the token American. That made a nice change. We all went to a pub that was way too loud and then to Heyoka's house. Her cat's were silly and entertaining, and her flat was really nice. We swapped immigration tips with each other. Everyone in the room had married someone from another country and most of us have had to deal with the home office in some capacity. It was refreshing to hear that I wasn't the only one who's been screwed by them, but still pretty stressful to hear the other experiences.
