Sunday, September 19, 2004 Thursday night in class was a surprise. I was sitting in my night class ready to take notes on ARDs, the best way to design an IEP, or other gubbins related to Special Education. While these things are very important and I am not trying to downplay them I really appreciated that my course facilitator Melissa spent a fair amount of time on the biggest thing I have been neglecting - myself. She is so amazing. I am so glad she did that. We spent about thirty minutes talking about relaxation... ahhh. So wonderful. And so necessary. Friday night was one of the funnest nights for me. I decided that I would take some time for myself and go out to see a play at Beerland ("do they have beer there?" "yeah."). It is brought to you by the same people who brought you the Tower Massacre Musical. If you live in Austin I recommend going, it was a lot of fun. After the play a Pontani Sister walked in and I realized that they were also playing that night. My favorite World Famous Burlesque Sensations! How wonderful to sit and drink pints of St. Arnolds and wait for the entertainment to come to me! I love those Pontani Sisters! And I love that they drink Lone Star when in Texas! As if the night could not get any better I went to Austin Java Co for some late night eats (veggie plate... yum) when outside they were showing my favorite movie on their outdoor cinema The Three Amigos. Yes, this is my favorite movie (well, besides The Jerk). Pretty much I like Steve Martin (and he is from Waco you know). When I was there I ran into Agatha, my old supervisor (and roomate) at the UT library. I remember that job fondly ... ah... And did I mention that I got to spend time with my friend Kay who has recently returned from Bermuda, and also Nigel, Alena and Kersten? Such a fun night! Must do it again next weekend. ![]() |
